In class we was given these character profile sheets in order to help us to plan and organize each character effectively. As a group we decided on the age, personality, background story, conventional features, and image of each character.
In terms of the names of characters, we did not pay too much attention to them because we had decided that in the title sequence names were irrelevant and will not be used or even mentioned.
Hannah's character is a female 16-18 year old who's background story consists of her being best friends with Zeba since a very long time, although she is very angry and envious towards her inside. Hannah has had an extreme crush on Zeba's boyfriend Rohan before Zeba and Rohan started a relationship together. Therefore Hannah has been building up all the anger in her for a very long time and is beginning to crack and strike at any opportunity she gets.
Hannahs image is very trendy and fashionable she mirrors Zeba in order to appeal to Rohan like Zeba does.
Hannahs personality resembles a typical undercover villain character. Hannah is a sly, evil,extremist, mysterious, dark, crazy minded, intimidating character. Hannah's personality, image and background story is all of the horror/thriller genre convention. Her creepy distorted behavior follows an unpredictable horror genre which created enigmas.
Zeba's character is also a female 16-18 years of age. Zeba is the victim throughout the title sequence and so so she is a very typical innocent and naive girl. Her background story consists of her being best friends with Hannah and involved in a long term relationship with Rohan. Zeba is an only child and has been brought up by a wealthy single parent and so she is very pampered.
Zeba's image is also very fashionable and trendy, she has an up to date style and resembles a 'girl next door' image.
Zeba's personality is kind, careful, understanding, gullible, vulnerable and independent. Zeba being vulnerable means she is un-aware of her surroundings and this makes a typical feature of a horror genre convention.
Rohan's character is a male 18-20 year old character. Making him tells audiences that Rohan is more mature and wiser than the younger female characters. Rohan's background story is that he has been Zeba's boyfreind since a long period of time, Rohan knows all Zeba's strengths and weaknesses and has a more sophisticated approach to life in general.
Rohans image is very smart, shows he is intelligent and intellectual.
As a character Rohan is loyal, trustworthy, protective, caring, calm, friendly, approachable and stern. This is all qualities of an alpha male with modern traits.This strong male figure gives audiences a sense of hope for the victim (Zeba).
